There are a number of dog sports available across the United Kingdom, dog sports helps keep both your dog active and mentally stimulated.

 

Mantrailing is a new and fast-growing dog sport in the UK, taught by a team of qualified and dedicated instructors. In a nutshell, mantrailing is teaching pet dogs to find missing people by following their scent. Mantrailing is suitable for dogs of all ages, sizes and temperaments. Because the dogs are worked individually, even dogs who are nervous or dog-reactive and may have been excluded from other group classes can participate in this sport. The benefits include:

- A full mental workout for your dog

- Low-impact training, for dogs and handlers who for medical reasons can't participate in other active dog sports such as agility or canicross

- A fantastic way for dog and owner to grow their bond and work as a team

- Helps build confidence in nervous dogs by giving them control of the game

Mantrailing is done in a variety of different rural, urban and suburban settings, so every week will see you work in a different area and the challenges these locations bring."

 

Hoopers is the new, up and coming dog sport which is suitable for all breeds, ages and sizes of dogs. Any dog is suitable providing they can work off lead around distraction, have good recall and are over 6 months of age. Hoopers is a flat dog sport where the dog runs through a course of hoops, tunnels, chutes and around barrels. It is great fun for dog and owner and helps build a strong bond between owner and dog! You can also work towards your Good Hoopers Award Scheme.

Hoopers is in a group training environment with no more than 6 dog’s per class, or can be 1:1 in special circumstances if your dog would not cope with a group training environment but you’d still like to do hoopers.
